Why the PTP Designation Matters

What Sets You Apart as a Tax Professional?

Become a PTP Yourself

Earning the Professional Tax Preparer™ (PTP) designation gives you a professional credential you can use to demonstrate your tax knowledge, training, and commitment to client service.

Once qualified, you can use PTP after your name and display the PTP logo on your website, business cards, and marketing materials.

For individual tax professionals, the designation can help you:

  • Demonstrate that you have been both trained and tested

  • Build greater credibility with clients and prospects

  • Distinguish yourself from preparers without a professional designation

  • Strengthen your professional image

  • Add prestige to your tax preparation services

  • Create a foundation for continued professional growth

Build a PTP-Designated Tax Office

Imagine being able to tell prospective clients that your tax preparation team is made up of Professional Tax Preparers™.

By helping your preparers complete the required education and earn the PTP designation, you can create a stronger professional identity across your office.

  • Develop a consistent training standard for your team

  • Give preparers a professional designation they can be proud of

  • Strengthen confidence across the office

  • Demonstrate your commitment to professional education

  • Help clients see the level of preparation behind your team

  • Create a stronger, more credible tax-office brand

Instead of simply saying your staff prepares taxes, you can say your preparers have earned the Professional Tax Preparer™ designation
